Apple
a little girl stands
beside an arching tree
looks up points
that one please Grandma
innocence the red core
of improvisation
both actors here swing
vigorous on the hinge
of yearning a mother
would never too practical
busy but a grandmother
knows vulnerability again
falls for that one please
desire so exact
fitting within a single skin
and thus a chair gets pulled
from the patio its four thin legs
meant for stone not this
this soft apple-pocked earth
steaming wasps
