Dive Away

You get lost in the sea. It is days

of sifting through shells, sure

there will be a sign—a starfish

with four legs or a bit

of steel. Anything with angles

to shred myself against.

You said to swim on

but I'm already back

with the brine, in the lap

of the ocean. Frothing

for your body. I know

it's around here, I'll wait

and wash home to you.
