Guidelines for Winter Haiku Issue
We are looking for poems that fall within the tradition of English-language haiku and senryu. If you are not familiar with the kinds of haiku and senryu being written in English, here are a few sites to explore that will give you a sense of what we are looking for:
Or you can take a look our haiku issue from last year:
We are looking for poems that have not previously been published in print or online journals or books. However, we are happy to consider work that has been previously posted to personal blogs or social media.
Simultaneous submissions are fine as long as you withdraw your work if it is accepted elsewhere. Once we accept your work, we expect that you will withdraw it from consideration elsewhere.
Please put everything you're submitting in one document: Your cover letter, your poems and your bio. Remember, we like very brief bios. Don't include an exhaustive list of publications. We prefer "recent work has appeared in..."
A condition of having your work published is that you subscribe to our email announcement list here, if you haven't already.
Please submit 1 - 10 haiku and/or senryu.
Submit via the submishmash system:
You will receive a response to your submission no later than January 23, 2017, possibly sooner.
