Funeral for a Butterfly

There are days when balloon dogs seem gratuitous, and days when breathing is hard work, like the funeral for a butterfly, and there are days when the sun looks lopsided, and days when I can’t say for sure who, if required to choose, I’d prefer to be, the armed man lurking in ambush or the target approaching (blessedly oblivious) this spot where the light doesn’t reach.
