Reading in Dim Light

When you finally become habituated to gaudy false forecasts, to televangelists competing against lake monsters for public adulation, only then will the constant chatter of keyboards cease to be a torment, or the souls of dead childhood pets floating in limbo be able to rest in peace, only then, the algorithms all agree, will Justin Bieber and 14 other celebrities who are left-handed climb to the top of the world’s tallest tower of books and wave to the millions of school-age children a mile or so below looking up in appalled wonder.
