A television minister sat in a wing chair 

saying pleasant thoughts

bless the house built around the box

bless the people around the box

and so on, until he got up angrily

and angled his arms

extended his fingers to unseen lights

and stuck his index finger up into the box 

I thought I heard a thud against the screen 

his face turned white

like devils and minions on the other side

were laughing hard  and dismantling the house

around the box 

brick by brick

one finger hole

into the sheetrock

at a time.
