Gallery Talk

A young woman in a Kings of Leon shirt asked, “Do you really dream in black and white?” I said, “I don't know. I’m colorblind.” She seemed disappointed. I said, “Do you?” She shook her head. “I never dream.” Afterward she asked me to sign a copy of Notes for a Cancelled Exhibition. “To Enka. E-N-K-A.” I said, “That’s a lovely name.” She said, “Seriously? You’re like, fifty. It’s for my roommate. That’s my pen.”
